Milton Santos

Milton Ralph Santos, 83, of Kamaoa Havens, Ka‘u and formerly of Kailua-Kona, died April 30, 2022. Born in 1938 in Oahu, he was a dairymen in Kaneohe, Oahu, and a commercial fisherman of Kailua-Kona.

No service.

He was survived by sons, Jesse, James, and Justin; and six grandchildren.

Peter Rosenstern

Peter Leslie Rosenstern, 71, of Ahualoa, died April 9, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 23, 1950 in New York City, New York, he was a farmer and co-owner of Star of Roses Organics, a former IT technician for West Hawaii Today, reservations and IT manager for the former Kona Surf Resort, a former front office manager for the former Sheraton Royal Waikoloan Resort and a personal chef.

He is survived by wife, Judy Rosenstern; daughters, Lia Rosenstern both of Ahualoa, and Allegra (Robert) Lopez of Waikoloa; hanai son, Todd Gilbert of Waimea; sister, Susi (Dennis) Curran of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ryan Longakit

Ryan Tyson Longakit, 48, of Hilo, died May 13, 2022 at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was a stevedore for Matson Navigation, former corrections officer at HCCC, member of the Ku Kane Motorcycle Club and an avid outdoorsman.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. June 2 at Dodo Mortuary for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may also call at noon June 3 at Wailoa State Park for a celebration of life. A motorcycle run honoring Ryan will also be on June 3, bikers meet up at 9 a.m. at the Wailoa State Park main pavilion, roll out at 10 a.m.

He is survived by sons Kwaylen Longakit of Las Vegas and Kanen Longakit (Lacey Rosa) of Hilo; father Gordon Pacheco of Hilo; mother, Natlynn Pacheco (Lean Savella) of Hilo; brothers, Chaze Pacheco and Jijo (Brittany) Pacheco of Hilo; sisters, Stacy (Rudy) Calicdan, Brandee Pacheco (Micah Kahapea) and Shaydee Pacheco of Hilo; grandmother Emily Pacheco of Hilo; former spouse Leona Longakit of Hilo; two granddaughters; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Isabella Cabote

Isabella “Bella” “Lola” Cabote, 85, of Ookala, died May 7, 2022 at his residence. Born Oct. 27, 1936, in Ninole, she was a retired waitress at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laupahoehoe and also a member of the Laupahoehoe Senior Club and Papaaloa Nutrition Center.

Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. June 11 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laupahoehoe for visitation; Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire.Cremation to follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory.

She is survived by caregiver and niece, April (Abraham DeMotta) Weber of Ookala; sisters, Jane Yanos and Doris (Francis) AhLoy of Oahu; brothers-in-law, Ken Boldwyn and Ronald Yanos Sr. of Oahu; step-brother, Neil Cabote of Hilo of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Miriam Fernando of Keaau, Mila Fernando of Hilo and Brenda Cabote of Laupahoehoe; and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Florence Dunn-O’Neal

Florence Roberta Dunn-O’Neal, 85, of Keaau and formerly of Honolulu, died May 13, 2022, at her residence. Born in Pinckneyville, Ill., she was a nurse anesthetist retiring from the Department of Health.

Private services held.

She is survived by daughters, Stephanie O’Neal of Germany and Susan O’Neal of Keaau; son, Scott O’Neal of Honolulu; brother, Jerry Dunn of Indiana; sisters, Catherine (Roger) Sunnquist and Janet (Lynn) Johnson of Indiana; four grandsons; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard Gouveia

Richard Martins Gouveia, 88, of Kailua-Kona, died May 23, 2022 at his residence. Born July 8, 1933, in Kealakekua, he was a pipe fitter for the Department of Water Supply, owner of Koa by R.G. Creations, coffee farmer and a construction worker.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. June 18 for visitation at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona; Mass will begin at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Fanny Gouveia; daughter, Richa Chang; brother, George Gouveia, all of Kailua-Kona; sister, Rita Gouveia; sister-in-law, Sally Gouveia, both of Holualoa; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one nephew; and numerous cousins, nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.
